During September Norris & Partners posed the question on their websiteís Instant Poll, ëAre you happy in your job?í The Survey results revealed 51.3% were very happy and 5.1% nominated they were feeling ìOKî in their job.
However the survey revealed 43.6% are thinking of leaving their current employer, which is well above the industryís average attrition rate of 12%, and the recruitment industryís attrition rate which is closer to 25%.
Lisa Norris comments, ìIn a talent short market a companyís inability to attract candidates will impede itsí growth and ability to take advantage of the current economic climate. These statistics show additional concerns regarding retention which will place an added burden on the industry. Going into the last quarter of the year, these statics could ring alarm bells as December (and January) is a time of career reviewî. Retention strategies need to remain a
top priority.î
Further the October poll asked ëWhere do you search for work?í and the survey revealed 46.4% Word of mouth 39.3% On-line and 14.3% through Print.
Confirming the poll results, Stevie Rose agrees that many recruiters are looking at their options in the market place given the extraordinary number of career opportunities that have arisen due to the talent shortage. They are actively
using their networks to discuss their next move.
