Forum3 Celebrates Best Year Ever As It Gears Up For 2008 Event

.

forum3, the UK’s only recruitment event for the not-for-profit sector, has just celebrated its most successful year in its seven year history with over 70% of exhibitors already rebooked for 2008.

The event which was officially opened by Third Sector Minister, Phil Hope, took place earlier this month (October 12th and 13th) at The Business Design Centre, Islington, London and saw more than 10,000 visitors walk through its doors. Exhibitors from over 150 leading charity, housing, local government, social care, arts and other not-for-profit organisations garnered interest and applications for a range of roles and volunteering posts.

Launched in 2001, forum3 has firmly established itself as a must-attend event within the sectorís annual calendar and is the only professional recruitment, volunteering and networking event for the not-for-profit and public sectors.

As well as the opportunity to talk to over 150 different organisations and 10,000 potential candidates, the event offered advice and practical tips through 70 seminars which took place on a variety of subjects from getting a foot on the not-for-profit career ladder and how volunteering can enhance careers to securing a role in international development or becoming a trustee.

This yearís awards for the best stands went to the Cats Protection, Shepherds Bush Housing and Village to Village.

Debbie Hockham, director, forum3 comments:
ìAs we move into our eighth year, weíre delighted to have completed our most successful event yet. Feedback from exhibitors has been immensely positive, which is reflected in the fact that seven out of 10 exhibitors have already booked for next year. Many commented that the quality of visitors was exceptional this year and that the event had already paid for itself several times over in recruitment fees alone.

She continues: ìThe not-for-profit sector can offer strong career prospects as well as the opportunity for people to contribute to something they believe in and this yearís event has proved beyond doubt that it is a truly dynamic and diverse sector to work in. For those looking to recruit the best talent forum3 really is the must-attend event of the year.î

Jane Urwin, Personnel Co-ordinator from RSPB comments:
ìforum3 is a great event to raise awareness and garner interest in careers from credible, quality candidates who have a genuine desire to work in the not-for-profit sector. In addition to awareness building weíve come away with numerous applications and registered interest from visitors so weíll definitely be returning next year!î

Tim Reason, MSC Co-ordinator, The Metropolitan Police, comments: ìWe have a major recruitment initiative underway at the moment as we need to recruit and train 6000 special constables in advance of the 2012 London Olympics. forum3 is invaluable as a means to helping this initiative as we are able to talk to and register interest from a diverse range of people from different backgrounds, ethnic origins, ages and genders. Weíll definitely be returning next year to continue to boost our ranks!î
