A successful rebrand, an increased portfolio of services for job hunters and advertisers as well as a nationwide advertising campaign have allowed fish4jobs.co.uk to extend its lead of the UK online recruitment market. The latest report from NORAS published today reveals that fish4jobs has achieved the largest number of Unique Users in its June 2007 audit, making it the biggest online jobs board in the UK.
The NORAS report, the UKís leading source of independent information on the audiences of online recruitment sites, reveals that fish4jobs received over 2.8 million Unique Users during June 2007 ñ an increase of 285,000 on the last report, published in January 20071.
A number of factors have contributed to fish4jobsí growth as the UK ís leading recruitment website goes from strength to strength, including:
New products and services: including daily email alerts, highly-targeted special delivery emails, a service that recommends similar jobs which other people have applied for, and a ëbe first to applyí function
A brand redesign and new positioning to give job seekers help and support at all stages seeking a new job
Regional advertising campaign: throughout the UK, both in shareholder newspapers around the UK and radio in the South West, West Midlands and Yorkshire regions
According to Joe Slavin, fish4 CEO: ìThe latest NORAS figures offer hard evidence that the start of 2007 has been a resounding success for fish4jobs.î
ìAs well as opening our first office outside London , and increasing our staff numbers by two-thirds, weíve focused strongly on the user experience of the site. We have, for example introduced a service that recommends jobs to applicants, so they donít have to spend hours trawling the site.
ìOur continued success can also be explained in terms of heritage, and the fact that our shareholders are some of the UK ís largest regional newspaper groups. This means the fish4jobs brand is known and respected by job seekers and applicants alike around the country. In addition, the site aims to be all inclusive ñ we have a good spread of jobs, from HGV drivers to office managersî
Richard Foan, Managing Director of ABC ELECTRONIC comments:
ìIt is highly encouraging that fish4jobs is delivering both comparability and transparency by committing to having its site traffic figures independently verified to industry agreed standards. ABC ELECTRONIC audited figures continue to provide the stakeholders of online properties with confirmation of the traffic the site attracts, which in turns helps to secure investment in the site. Both internal and external audiences benefit from the trust audited figures evoke.î
At a recent breakfast briefing to fish4jobs clients, Joe Slavin and chief technology officer Richard Yeo revealed how the foundations laid during 2006 were contributing to 2007ís successes ñ including a year-on-year traffic growth of 23% and numbers of CVs hosted on the site growing 450%.
