A team from Personnel Selection in Brighton have pledged to raise over 5,000 for the National Deaf Childrenís Society (NDCS) by undertaking the gruelling 24 hour NDCS Three Peaks Challenge. They will scale the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales to raise money to support deaf children and their families from 2-3 June 2007.
This is a real personal challenge for me, said team leader Susan Bailey. It will be tough going, and I have a lot of training to do between now and setting off, but I know it will be worth the hard work to raise as much money as possible for deaf children and their families across the UK.
The challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in just 24 hours! Iím looking forward to the spectacular scenery and the whole team will have a great sense of achievement when we reach the finish point.
Helen Williams, NDCS Head of Events, explained: Every day in the UK three babies are born deaf and most are born to hearing parents with no experience of deafness. The NDCS is the only UK charity solely dedicated to the support of deaf children and young people, their families, and professionals working with them and is funded almost entirely through public donations. Our work would not be possible without the commitment of people like the Personnel Selection team.
NDCS Challenges offer the experience of a lifetime and there are always new adventures to sign up for. If youíd like to find out more please call NDCS Challenges on: 0870 7747774 or visit:
