At this Julyís AGR (Association of Graduate Recruiters) Conference, Hobsons will launch a new partnership between its flagship graduate recruitment website, GET (Graduate Employment & Training), and the UKís online recruiter, Jobsite. Together GET and Jobsite are offering graduate recruiters a dedicated graduate channel with the ability to reach a wider pool of graduates and filter them online.
Keith Potts, Managing Director, Jobsite, said: ìAccording to the Hobsons Graduate Recruitment Review (2006) 67% of graduates will look at careers websites, compared to 61% picking up information directly from company sites. Graduate employers now have a one-stop shop where they can interact with graduates looking for work. Recruiters will get all the advantages of a dedicated graduate careers site and an online job board in one. They can build their brand, alert graduates to relevant events and training and take advantage of vacancy advertising, a CV search function, online application and application filtering.î
Natalie Mudd, UK managing director, Hobsons, said: ìCombining Jobsite and our flagship graduate recruitment site, GET, will give graduate recruiters access to an unparalleled range of targeted content as well as state-of-the-art electronic recruitment and selection tools.î
The graduate recruitment landscape has changed dramatically since the introduction of online job boards. A recent CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) survey found that more than 70 per cent of all employers use the internet to fill their vacancies. For graduates, the web is now the first choice for researching employment opportunities, and an increasing number of graduates will look to careers websites such as GET and Jobsite for assistance.
Among graduate recruiters, online advertising grows in importance as the pool of graduates looking for employment continues to grow. The challenge for recruiters is to find a selection process that is both time- and cost-efficient. The AGR Graduate Recruitment Survey 2005 found that at least one third of graduate recruiters were using online pre-selection tools. Using the GET/Jobsite graduate channel means that selection can be handled on behalf of the client.
