Sainsburyís Stores stocking up with great staff

Retailers leading the way in adoption of online recruitment strategy

On the recent Human Resources Forum hosted by Richmond Events, Jane Basley, Head of Retail recruitment at Sainsburyís gave an insight into the recruitment strategy she and her team recently implemented for its management recruitment. Sainsburyís employs 10,000 managers out of a total workforce of 140,000.

In order to save on time to hire, recruitment advertising spend and improve their brand in the eyes of the jobseeker the retailer implemented an online recruitment solution from changeworknow.co.uk.

The project has been so successful that it will inevitably be rolled out as the method of recruitment for all Sainsbury staff.

The fact that such a large employer has embraced online recruitment is very encouraging and I believe itís a lead that HR Directors will follow, not just in retail but in a wide range of sectors in the UK.

A number of UK companies have implemented online recruitment strategies but itís only the beginning.

To learn more about online recruitment and hear how large employers have embraced online recruitment, attend the conference being held at the Queen Elizabeth ll Conference Centre, Westminster, London, where case studies from PricewaterhouseCoopers and Portman Building Society will outline the latest recruitment thinking. The Online recruitment conference is organised by Onrec.com and is being held on the 20th June 2006.

ìOnce companies have implemented online recruitment strategies they wonít be changing their minds, it will be an integral part of overall recruitment policy for large and SME employersî, said David Hurst, Publisher of Online recruitment magazine and Chairman of the Online Recruitment Marketing Council.
