Seminar: Terminating IT & outsourcing agreements: clearing up the mess
Date: Tuesday 16 May 2006
Time: 4.45 pm to 6.00 pm, followed by drinks
Location: Tarlo Lyons, Watchmaker Court, 33 St John’s Lane, London, EC1M 4DB
You have completed your IT & outsourcing deal and it has proceeded smoothly. Then, you find out that there is a small disagreement. Although the parties believe that this can be resolved, it escalates so that the parties start to talk about litigation and termination and this looks like it could become a full blown dispute.
At this seminar, Jimmy Desai, a partner in our outsourcing & technology department, will provide you with information and tips on dealing with this situation.
Jimmy will cover the associated risks and examine the following areas
Typical disputed issues
Nipping disputes in the bud
Typical snags in your existing contract
Other elements to take into account in your contract (e.g. implied terms)
Calculating potential losses and damages
TUPE - what employment aspects are likely to come into play?
Intellectual property rights on termination
Other practical implications of termination & case studies
Latest legal developments.
The session qualifies for one CPD point and places for the seminar are free of charge.
Places are strictly limited and so please book early as our IT & Outsourcing series of seminars have been heavily oversubscribed in the past. If you and/or a colleague would like to attend then please send all of your contact details to ophelia.boateng@tarlolyons.com or alternatively you can call Ophelia on 020 7814 5450 to book your place.
The closing date for reservations is 21 April 2006 (subject to availability).
Further details and directions will then be sent to you the week commencing Monday 8 May 2006.
