Recruitment is the key to national security claims Parity

temporary labour is the weakest link in the IT infrastructure

Parity, the IT services specialist, is calling on fellow recruitment agencies and IT services providers to join forces to help protect the nationís security.

Its work with all central government departments and many security-sensitive organisations has brought to Parityís attention the need for a new code of ethics for public-sector recruitment.

ìMillions of pounds are being invested in sophisticated security systems to improve our countryís defences,î said Simon Church, strategic sales director at Parity. ìBut an IT infrastructure is only as secure as the people behind it,î he continued.

ìPublic sector organisations need to be able to rest secure in the knowledge that the contractors they hire to implement systems to process and protect their data share the same common interests as them. The only way to ensure this is to introduce a new industry standard that recognises the need for heightened security when it comes to recruitment.î

Church continued, ìThere have always been risks associated with temporary labour for any organisation, but as concerns about immigration and terrorist threats intensify it has become particularly important for organisations to be confident that the contractors hired to implement its new projects are vetted as rigorously.î

ìParity has proved to be a reliable provider of permanent and temporary labour for years now,î continued Church, ìand we have recently agreed to new, stricter sets of service level agreements with a number of our clients.î

Parity is inviting public sector bodies, recruitment agencies and IT service providers that wish to discuss the new industry standard to contact it at securerecruitment@parity.net.
