Yahoo! Europe today announces that it has appointed Helen Russell as vice president, Human Resources, Europe with responsibility for HR operations and human capital. In her new role, Helen Russell is tasked with creating a high performance culture that attracts and retains talent within the business. She will report to Pranesh Anthapur, vice president, Human Resources International, Yahoo!.
Helen Russell joins Yahoo! from Siebel Systems, the worldwide leader in customer facing solutions, where she was group director, Human Resources, EMEA. Prior to her six years at Siebel, Helen Russell was the Human Resources and Recruitment manager ñ Europe, Pegasystems Inc, the workflow software manufacturer. Her HR career began more than 10 years ago at Computer People, a leading international professional IT contract services and permanent recruitment company.
Helen Russell will develop and implement an HR strategy that addresses personnel requirements across Europe to ensure the attraction and retention of key talent in the business. She will also identify the key human resource needs within lines of business in order to implement best practice and enhance the performance of people management processes.
Helen Russell took up her position on 6 September and is based in London, where Yahoo! Europe has its head office. She replaces Stuart Crabb, who has transferred to the USA to become the director of talent development with responsibility for employee learning across Yahoo!
