Reward is becoming more important as organisations attempt to recruit, retain and motivate staff in a highly competitive environment. Research shows the reward function has grown in the past two years, and it is predicted to continue to expand.
The CIPD has developed an Advanced Certificate in Reward Management to help managers, pay and reward specialists, HR generalists and consultants understand reward issues. This should also give them the ability to select a reward scheme that is aligned with the needs of both the business and employees. Charles Cotton, CIPD Reward and Employment Conditions Adviser, says, ìReward is a complex area ñ it doesnít just relate to pay or bonuses but also pensions and flexible benefits. Whilst employers need to make sure the reward package satisfies staff they must also ensure it supports the organisational objectives, if it is to succeed.
ìThere is no one size fits all solution, and what works for one employee or drives the reward strategy for one organisation may not work for another. The CIPD Advanced Certificate in Reward Management is designed to give individuals the ability to develop a reward programme that is adaptable and a source of competitive advantage for their organisation.î
The CIPD are holding an open evening for prospective students of the Advanced Certificate in Reward Management, on 23 November.
The open evening will allow interested individuals to talk to tutors and students and discover how the programme can be applied to some of the workplaceís most challenging situations.
