Los Angeles/Mountain View. A specialized Internet job service, focused on U.S.-German business and trade, has been launched by Silicon Valley based publisher GERMANY-USA.COM (www.germany-usa.com) in a partnership with the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Western United States (GACC), Los Angeles. The German American Career Center, as the new service is named, features a job and resume database that connects job applicants from Germany and from the U.S. with companies active in both markets. Initial Career Center partners include Infineon Technologies Corp., POET Software Corp., Get2Chip.com, Gruner Jahr EMS (Bertelsmann Group), OOTO Management Partner GmbH and the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses (NACCB).
According to the German American Chamber of Commerce, partnering with the GERMANY-USA.COM Career Center provides an effective tool for advancing German American business relations. The German American Job and Resume Database, says Andreas Schwerdtfeger, business development manager at the GACC in Los Angeles, will help us in providing our members in both countries with efficient, fast and personalized services. The main advantage of the new job board, according to GERMANY-USA.COM publisher Gerd Meissner, is its focus: Through our partnership with the German American Chamber of Commerce, we can offer state-of-the-art Internet job services in combination with long-time expertise in this cross-border market with its highly qualified, often multilingual workforce.
