Subsea career channel launch - 04/2001

Recruitment opportunities across the globe

Two of the UKs most exciting Internet portals have come together in a unique strategic partnership that will offer recruitment opportunities across the globe.

Subsea Explorer, the world's first Internet portal aimed specifically at the diving market, has entered into an agreement with online recruitment specialists RexOnline plc which will allow visitors to the Subsea Explorer site to not only search for job vacancies within the diving and marine environment across the world, but across all job forums anywhere in the UK.

It is a highly exciting development for both organisations and sits well with RexOnline's strategy of breaking into niche employment markets.

The Subsea Explorer Career Channel will be divided into two sections - one diver specificly providing access to vacancies at diving centres throughout the world and one for professionals and non-diving individuals who by logging on to subseaexplorer-jobs.com will have instant access to RexOnline's huge database of up to 900 recruitment agencies and the choice of 30,000 jobs throughout the UK. Visitors to the site will simply be able to drop their CV off in a secure CV register and can opt to be contacted by email, SMS message or telephone, opening up a host of opportunities.

Whilst the concept of online recruitment is not unique within the professional market, it is unique within the diving marketplace - particularly on a global scale. It heralds yet another world first for Subsea and also RexOnline who have previously concentrated on the UK and Europe.

This means that a diver who is based in Florida, for example, will be able to access vacancies seeking his particular skills anywhere in the world - a service which has never been available before. It is a site that is expected to have global appeal and increase traffic by up to 30%. Job vacancies for non-divers will be principally UK and European based.

Subsea Explorer chief executive Gary Allsopp is excited by this latest development to the site which was launched only two months ago. He commented: We are delighted that RexOnline has come on board as our strategic partner in this exciting new venture as it adds an additional element of interest to the site - particularly for those wishing to enhance their career prospects. With our global network of diving centres, the world literally can become their oyster.

By drawing on RexOnline's tremendous experience within the recruitment marketplace we are able to offer something that is both unique and of real value to the visitors to our site. It means that it no longer becomes just a recreational site, but a site that provides a wider service to our members.

The fact that we are able to offer access to vacancies for both divers and non-divers is very exciting and we believe meets the very diverse requirements of our marketplace.
