Campofrio Spain chooses StepStone Solutions Talent Management to support global expansion

Campofrio Spain, a division of Spain-based processed foods conglomerate, Campofrio Group, has selected StepStone Solutions to provide it with a new talent management system

Campofrio Spain, a division of Spain-based processed foods conglomerate, Campofrio Group, has selected StepStone Solutions to provide it with a new talent management system. The system, which is integrated with existing corporate systems such as payroll, includes Skills and Competencies Management, 360 Review, and Learning Management for 400 key employees. Campofrio was supported by StepStone Solutions’ experienced local Spanish partner, Audalia, in deploying the new system.


With the 2009 merger of two large food companies, Campofrio Food Group is now the leading processed meats company in Europe and one of the five largest processed meats companies worldwide, with revenues of around €2.1 billion. As an industry leader operating across 40 countries and with a global strategy for continual expansion Campofrio Spain needed a much stronger talent management capability. Campofrio Spain wanted to replace an existing system which had become expensive to maintain and modify and was not flexible enough to meet the evolving needs of its management team.

When choosing a solution Campofrio Spain prioritised the ability to integrate easily with existing systems and processes plus the option to use best-practice out-of-the-box functionality. The ability to use built-in tools to customise the system to specific requirements and features to drive user acceptance, such as friendly navigation, notifications, and action triggered e-mail reminders, ensured a solution that would be sensitive to the needs of Campofrio Spain employees. Another advantage was the inherent compatibility with existing systems such as payroll. Campofrio Spain validated its choice of StepStone Solutions with several visits to other Spain-based multinational organisations and with the knowledge that StepStone Solutions’ authorised representative in Spain, Audalia, would be closely supporting them.

Employees can get 360º feedback and ask for training actions very easily. In addition HR can design and administrate the whole process with almost no external support. Our first year results include 2,433 feedback forms completed, more than 300 people provided with a 360º feedback report, and 360 individual development plans supported by an on-line training catalogue of 330 courses. Not bad figures if we consider that we are providing every qualified overhead employee of the company with the chance of having a 360º feedback and up to six training actions each year. All of this was possible thanks to the great work of Audalia, who configured the tool and provided us with the proper training.”
