Chris’s career began—like many in recruitment—by accident rather than design. After finishing university in the mid-90s, he stumbled into a recruitment role that shaped his professional path. Seven years later, following a personal reset, he made the move into payroll—quickly realising it was a natural evolution. The client-facing skills, attention to detail, and understanding of the pressures recruiters face translated seamlessly. Over the next 21 years, he became one of the most recognisable names in the sector, known not just for his expertise but for his genuine care in how he shows up for clients and colleagues alike.
Now, joining AGPayroll, Chris sees a rare opportunity to help build something special. “I’ve worked with Chris Fahey before, and we’ve built businesses side-by-side. But this is different—it’s personal,” he says. “We’ve been through a lot together—professionally and as friends—and we’ve made the decision to do this with clear eyes and clear roles. This is about building a great business, grounded in values we share: trust, integrity, and people-first relationships.”
For Chris, relationship-building is not a strategy—it’s a way of life. From attending client weddings to receiving Christmas hampers from contractors, Chris has always believed that business is personal. “It’s like dating,” he says with a laugh. “You build it over time. You show up. You solve problems. And you don’t take anyone for granted.”
At AGPayroll, he’s hit the ground running—bringing in new business, supporting team development, and strengthening internal and external relationships. He’s also helping shape the next phase of AGPayroll’s journey.
“Everyone wears a sales hat here,” he adds. “From answering the phones to managing onboarding, every touchpoint is a chance to deliver value. That’s how you grow a business—with consistency, care, and clarity.”
Chris also brings a strong philanthropic edge to AGPayroll. He is deeply involved in his local Round Table and XRT chapters—leading community fundraising events and helping families access support and resources. He sees this as aligned with AGPayroll’s growing commitment to social impact and their involvement with mental health charity Back Onside.
When he’s not on the road meeting clients or cooking up a Sunday roast, Chris is usually watching Liverpool FC, hosting family BBQs, or planning his next travel adventure with his wife and daughters.
Chris Fahey, Founder of AGPayroll, said:
“Bringing Chris on board just makes sense. We’ve worked together before, but this time it’s about building something that reflects who we are and how we want to do business. He’s one of the best relationship builders I’ve ever met—and we’re lucky to have him.”
Welcome to the team, Chris.
