With the growing demand for a wider range of skills and expertise in the media and broadcasting industries, specialist recruitment company PCR has expanded its team and moved to larger premises. PCR Broadcast was established in 2000 to focus on recruiting broadcast and media technology professionals for permanent, project and contract assignments.
The rapid changes taking place with the transition from analogue to digital and the growth in web and mobile broadcasting is driving the demand for both traditional and new skills, says Judith Blair, Director, PCR. In addition to post-production, engineering and transmission expertise, we are seeing a rapid growth in demand for content management, networking, new media and IPTV professionals. This ranges from business analysts and database administrators through to Linux support engineers and developers with Java, VB and .Net experience.
As many of these new skills are also in demand from other sectors, broadcast and new media companies facing possible skills shortages are turning to more focused and specialist staffing partners such as PCR for help. Our aim is to ensure that clients get the best people available, as and when they need them, says Blair. All of our service offerings are structured to make the process of recruitment fast, focused and interactive. Unlike online services and more generalist agencies, we source people not CVs
PCR clients include many top 100 international companies based within the UK.
PCR has moved into new purpose built offices in Cambridge and with 20 experienced staff it operates much of its broadcast and media recruitment activities within the Greater London area.
