Eploy & That Little Agency deliver a candidate rich experience with Toolstation

That Little Agency, the Employer Brand & Marketing Agency and Eploy worked with Toolstation to provide a candidate rich experience with a strong customer recruitment identity. It was a genuine partnership effort that delivered a creative and engaging candidate experience.

When implementing a brand new Applicant Tracking System it is important to consider how the ATS will work with your careers site.

Traditionally, many ATS solutions have a poor experience when it comes to candidate journey. The “classic” ATS journey would be to start from a well-designed careers site that focuses on candidate experience and engagement through the employer proposition and then on clicking through to a job to apply, ending on a poorly designed template, often running on the ATS providers domain name with no easy route back to candidate centric content.

ATS solutions often fall short delivering on candidate experience. While they can be easy and cost effective to set up, they lack in branding, often have a URL not associated with the company, double vacancy details (when clicking from a job board or 3rd party CMS to the ATS pages) and have a confusing journey/navigation.

That Little Agency worked with Toolstation to deliver their careers site and employer proposition to help them engage with retail, distribution, contact centre and professional service job seekers. They did this by understanding their core audiences to tell their employer story and what makes Toolstation a great place to work. The people proposition, ‘Together we’ll get the job done’ is supported by a strong visual identity that combines employees and their roles to resonate with the intended recruitment audience.

Eploy delivered the cloud-based e-recruitment platform that is being used to track all moves within the business for a full 360 view of recruitment. The branded online candidate self-service portal is delivering a first-class candidate journey, from searching for roles to registering for job alerts and managing applications - all neatly integrated and aligned to the Toolstation brand.

Emma Issitt, Recruitment Manager at Toolstation commented “We now have the foundations in place to deliver an enhanced candidate experience aligned to our business culture and recruit at scale. Our ambitious growth plans can be supported through a flexible recruitment system and a careers site that can continually evolve.”

The Toolstation careers site is in line with the corporate Toolstation branding to give a unified look and feel from the corporate site. It shares the employer value proposition for each key audience of job seekers to engage with what it is like to work at Toolstation through purposeful content. The careers site is in the initial phase of development and has already seen a 184% increase in sessions, and there are more exciting changes expected soon.

The partnership between That Little Agency and Eploy saw a cohesive approach to bringing an employer brand with fine-tuned messages to a well-designed candidate intuitive careers site integrated to Eploy’s ATS & e-recruitment platform. The same url is used on the careers site through to where it integrates with Eploy to ‘Find your job search’ and register/apply pages that importantly provides the seamless candidate experience through a replication of the careers site design.

The revised careers site now addresses candidate attraction through engaging content
providing a great user experience. Content such as ‘what you’ll get’ covering the wider benefits such as discounts, bonus scheme, flexible working and share scheme. And there is more to come in later stages.

Through the Eploy candidate portal, candidates can search for jobs based on location using Google maps, register for job alerts, apply online and check on applications in progress. The core recruitment platform is delivering an automated and simplified recruitment processes for smarter, more successful recruitment.

The end result is a unified solution delivered through two suppliers that added value to candidates with a much improved candidate experience and a direct impact on the Toolstation recruitment team.
