SuccessFactors, an SAP company, today announced that Welcome Break Group, the UK's second largest operator of motorway service stations and hotels, has selected the SuccessFactors Business Execution (BizX) Suite to help develop internal talent, drive employee performance and transform the company¹s workforce. Welcome Break's human resource (HR) Department is spearheading the strategic new business initiative that will enable the company to gain full visibility of its internal talent, insight into individual training and competency requirements, as well as the ability to cross-train and promote staff across different brands and business units. With the initiative, which will be realized across 2012 and 2013, SuccessFactors will help Welcome Break ensure corporate goal alignment across both divisions and individual employees, create a more versatile and mobile talent pool, support employee training, development and career progression, and help deliver annual six figure savings for the organisation.
Welcome Break Group's Director of People, Karl Jolly, commented, "We are extremely excited about our new partnership with SuccessFactors as we feel it will help us provide a really strong foundation for where we want our business to go in the future. Optimised performance from aligned, engaged and capable people is really important to us if we are to maintain our market leading position. SuccessFactors is providing us with the visibility, analytical data and tools to help us develop our people in the years to come."
With 4,300 employees, Welcome Break will deploy core solutions within the cloud-based SuccessFactors BizX Suite of applications to all team members, including: Employee Central, SuccessFactors' next generation core HR system that provides a central record of workforce data and powerful analytics; SuccessFactors Jam, to provide social learning and collaboration with features such as user profiles, groups, blogs and file sharing; SuccessFactors Recruitment Management for a centralised, consistent approach to external recruiting, and greater insight for promotion of internal talent; and SuccessFactors Learning to help transform Welcome Break's workforce learning.
Welcome Break Group's Director of IT, David Willock said, "From an IT perspective we love the functionality and flexibility and are delighted with the ease of integration to our current processes. This is a technically robust solution and we are very much looking forward to a working relationship with the SuccessFactors team."
Prior to SuccessFactors, Welcome Break had to rely on its payroll system as its central employee record, and had to capture training and learning requirements manually. With dispersed and site-specific processes, it was difficult to identify internal talent or cross train skills between the different silos of brands represented by the group, such as Starbucks, KFC, BP, Shell, Burger King, Days Inn and Waitrose.
