Vurv today announced the creation of two new senior management positions. Michael Gibson has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Samantha Hanson has joined the company as Vice President of Human Resources. With more than 30 years of combined senior management experience with global enterprise organizations, including leadership roles at Dell and Best Buy, Gibson and Hanson bring seasoned global sales and human resources expertise to address the companyís rapid worldwide expansion.
As Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Gibson will be responsible for directing all sales and business development activity to ensure the companyís continued worldwide growth. Providing strategic and operational direction to field sales and business development teams, Gibson is tasked with creating and implementing a number of new initiatives that will focus the organization on continued global expansion under a consolidated sales and business development strategy.
Gibson brings a wealth of global sales and business development experience to the company. Prior to joining Vurv, Gibson served in a number of leadership positions with Dell Inc., including Managing Director of Dell Australia and New Zealand, Director of Emerging Business and most recently as Director of Dellís Middle Market Division. Gibson was well recognized at Dell, receiving numerous awards for his ability to drive business results beyond market expectation. His accomplishments include dramatically increasing market share in Dellís South Pacific region from 7.2% to 11.5% in one year, implementing a CRM system in APAC to increase operational efficiency, developing a demand generation program which is now viewed as best practice and used across Dell globally and the development of programs that increased customer experience scores by 30% in one year.
Prior to his tenure at Dell, Gibson held leadership positions at Cummins, Inc. in Australia and Belgium. He also held various management positions at Pitney Bowes, Inc. He holds a bachelorís degree from Western Connecticut University.

As Vice President of Human Resources, Samantha Hanson will be responsible for all human resources activities for Vurv worldwide. Hanson will work directly with the executive team to ensure Vurv continues to be a global employer of choice during a time of dynamic worldwide expansion. Hanson is tasked with creating and implementing a number of new employee relations, communications and management programs to attract and retain the companyís most valuable asset ñ its people.
Prior to joining Vurv, Hanson held key leadership positions at Best Buy and CitiStreet. Most recently, Hanson held the position of Director of HR for Best Buy where she was responsible for implementing a talent management system to ensure employee engagement and retention, leadership effectiveness, corporate transformation and HR team development. Hansonís additional accomplishments include the development of a human capital strategy aligned with key business leaders to achieve targeted business results, the transition of 100,000 employees to an outsourced HR service provider to reduce cost-per-employee by 20 % in six months and the refinement of Best Buyís HR service model to empower employees through enhanced self-service and increase HR service reliability and consistency throughout the company.
Prior to her time at Best Buy, Hanson held key positions at CitiStreet where she was responsible for the companyís marketing and communication functions and served as a client relationship manager. She holds a bachelorís degree from the University of Minnesota.
