Further to recent research carried out by Investors in People, findings reveal that a mere 15 per cent of the UK SME workforce is motivated by financial reward alone. With this in mind, UK TEN, the UKís most comprehensive support network for UK SMEís, entrepreneurs and growing businesses, has joined up with Nandoís restaurant group this autumn to address staff motivation as a key factor within business development and building a trustworthy brand.
Nandoís, famous for its Piri Piri chicken customer service driven brand, prides itself on five core values, all of which are also synonymous with a true entrepreneurial spirit as reflected by UK TEN and its growing membership: Pride, passion, courage, integrity and a sense of ëfamilyí/building. All well and good in theory but how can a company deliver this in real terms when the ëbottom lineí is paramount?
To find out answers to the above and more, UK TEN is proud to welcome Nandoís human resources director, Julia Rosamond, to address these issues at the next UK TEN event:-
Venue: CBI Conference Centre, Centre Point, London WC1A 1DU
Date: Tuesday 9th November 2004
Time: 18:15 ñ 21:00
Cost: 25 members 35 non-members (including drinks and canaps)
According to Allison Harper, newly appointed CEO of UK TEN:
ìResearch shows that that there is a direct correlation between customer satisfaction and staff satisfaction, which, in turn, is linked to management behaviour. One sure way to increase customer loyalty and therefore ROI is to engage and motivate your staff. And yet whilst most businesses advocate this in theory, the reality often falls shortî.
Developing this theme, Julia Rosamond, HR director of Nandoís, comments:
ìPeople want to value the organisation they work for and to be valued in return. Most people want to feel that they are part of building and developing a business, that they have made a ëdifferenceí to a companyís growth and that they are listened to, their ëvoiceí heard and their needs addressed. Each business starts small and can build into something great over time, but this can only be achieved with a motivated and happy workforce. We, at Nandoís, very much believe in trying to create an environment where people will enjoy coming to work so that in that way they will create an environment where our customers will enjoy coming to our restaurants. Without a doubt if you look after your staff they will look after your customers which in turn will make for a happy bank manager!
Those who sign up to attend the above event will receive UK TEN and Nandoís FREE GUIDE to ìTen Top Tips To Engage Your PeopleÖî. To register for the above event please log on to
