Totaljobs.com and Seek Communications create UK/Australian online recruitment advertising solution

Totaljobs.com, and seek.com.au, Australiaís number one job board, has announced a strategic sales and marketing partnership which will allow UK employers and recruiters easy and cost-effective access to a large pool of Australian and New Zealand jobseeker

Around 30,000 Australians and New Zealanders per year come to the UK on working holidays and many more come on other types of visas. Common language and education systems make it very easy to utilise skills in the UK.

The agreement will offer totaljobs.comís clients the ability to post jobs on the UK job zone of seek.com.au, which receives around 25,000 visitor sessions per month and generates over 2,000 applications per month to UK recruiters. SEEK UK has been enormously successful in enabling candidates to communicate with recruiters before they leave home. The SEEK UK jobseeker profile is generally Australian or New Zealander looking to move over to the UK within a 1-6 month period; these jobseekers are interested in finding work in admin/customer service, IT, teaching, nursing, accounting, legal, engineering, construction and financial services.

ìAnnouncing the agreement, SEEK executive director, Andrew Bassat said: Our exchange rate has made travelling to the UK much less affordable for Australians, encouraging many to finance their trip by working in London or elsewhere.

It is also increasingly common for professionals to seek a stint in the UK to expand their career horizons or as a precursor to their big trip around Europe. Lining up a job before leaving home allows travellers to decide where they want to live, whether they will take a trip on the way and most importantly, what they can afford.

Rob Perkins, CEO of totaljobs.com, commented. ìThis agreement is part of totaljobs.comís long term strategy to provide global solutions for our customers. Many of our recruitment consultancy and employing company clients positively look to employ jobseekers from Australia and New Zealand. This agreement will make it easier for UK recruiters to attract these committed and qualified staff.
