After successfully running Torex Productivity Management in 160 PC World stores across the UK since 2003, DSGi is extending its use of the system to a further 510 Currys, Currys.digital and Dixons Travel (airport) stores. As well as unifying management processes across its businesses, the system enables the company to take firmer control of its resources as it responds to changing conditions.
Torex Productivity Management gives managers a clear ongoing insight into the staffing levels suitable for each individual store. It takes into account sales targets, the nature of the items in stock and how this affects the time taken to serve customers, as well as the specific requirements of the local communities they serve.
Additionally, Torex Productivity Management provides an efficient system for recording the hours store colleagues work. It is able to process complex dynamic working schedules, such as those for colleagues who do not work the same hours or days each week, ensuring that wages are paid accurately and on time.
Commenting on the deal, Jon Naylor, Head of Productivity at DSGi, said: ìBy implementing Torex Productivity Management across all our UK stores, we can ensure that our business is in the best possible position to adapt to the changing conditions of the local retail marketplace. Our goal is to offer our customers an unbeatable combination of Value, Choice and Service. By tailoring our resources to suit each storeís particular requirements, Torex Productivity Management will help us achieve this.î
Helen Slaven, VP Retail at Torex, added: ìWe are delighted that DSGi has chosen to extend its use of Torex Productivity Management across all of its UK brands. It is testament to the success of the PC World implementation and the important role our technology can play in helping retail businesses respond to todayís challenging market conditions. We look forward to working closely with DSGi to fulfil its business objectives in the future.î
