TMP Worldwide wins one gold and three silvers at the 2005 IVCA Film Awards

TMP Worldwide had its best ever performance at the 2005 International Visual Communication Awards, winning four wins with two films

Recruitment advertising agency, TMP Worldwide, sister company to Monster.co.uk, had its best ever performance at the 2005 International Visual Communication Awards, winning four wins with two films.

The Worst Enemy won Gold for Best Script, Silver for Best Health & Safety Film and Silver for Best Editing. Cancer Awareness won Silver for Best Animation, Graphics and Special Effects. The Metropolitan Police commissioned both films as part of its progressive employee induction and health promotion strategies.

Recognising Europe’s premier performers in effective and ethical business and public sector communications, the IVCA Awards showcase exceptional corporate film and video, websites, multimedia projects, business television and live events, and are judged by over 200 specialists and professionally skilled bodies.

The Worst Enemy was conceived and written by Philip Clarke and Steve Paton, with Ben Hartfield producing; Cancer Prevention by Philip Croft and Ryan Thomas, with Nicola Black producing.

The Worst Enemy is a hard-hitting visceral drama designed to reduce physical and psychological injury caused during high-risk police work. It highlights the potential consequences of ’Red Mist’, a term used by London Police Officers to describe the baffling state of mind in which instinct can take over from training.

IVCA judges commented The film took a difficult subject that is potentially confrontational and dealt with it head on, responsibly and practically. Never losing sight of the need to profoundly affect viewers, the script was powerful and effective.

Cancer Prevention addresses the severity of cancer within the Metropolitan Police. The two-minute film manages to punch out the facts tactfully, if somewhat disturbing and frightening. In today’s society, cancer is a killer disease and the police want their employees to be able to have information readily accessible and someone to talk to.

We’ve produced some outstanding work in film and broadcast this year and it’s wonderful to see it being recognised with these prestigious awards, said Jon Dobinson, Executive Creative Director of TMP Worldwide London. Winning Gold for Best Script for two years in succession is a fantastic achievement - Philip, Steve and Ben should be proud of what they’ve achieved. I know that all the teams involved worked enormously hard to make sure that what they produced was the best it possibly could be. That’s what makes the difference between work that’s good and work that’s great.

Judges observed the film to be Powerful, hard-hitting, well crafted, blending sound with vision. This graphic and stylised film is highly effective in delivering its message.

The Awards were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on 6th April 2005 and is hosted as one of the most sophisticated nights in this industry.
