The Finance and Accounting MA aims to further career prospects in the areas of finance, corporate treasury and accountancy. It meets CPD requirements of professional accountancy bodies. Graduate members of professional accountancy bodies can enter a part-time accelerated programme, so could complete the MA in just 18 months, and can claim exemption from two modules and a fee reduction.
Course Leader Declan McDonald, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, says that staff are experienced accounting and finance professionals with appropriate research interests.

He says: Students will benefit from staff expertise and the School’s extensive facilities, including Bloomberg and DataStream terminals. WBS is planning to set up a dealing room for postgraduate finance students, which should be ready early in 2005. The course can be taken one year full time or two years part time,

A practice-based MA for senior HR professionals, managers and consultants is being offered from autumn. The Individual and Organisational Development MA builds on professional experience and gets away from formal lecture-seminar structures to smaller groups working around a practice-based curriculum. The degree is a two-year burst mode programme - convenient for students who cannot make a regular weekly commitment. It is provided by WBS’s Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Centre of Excellence.

The course will be offered jointly by Westminster Business School and Harrow Business School at the University’s Marylebone Road campus.

The new Management Studies MA is designed to develop general management skills and abilities. The programme will help students to develop skills of analysis, problem solving and proactive thinking, and provide the knowledge and understanding required to operate effectively in a managerial role. Available full-time and part time.
