Specialist recruitment consultancy, The Principle Partnership, has launched its guide for graduates on how best to find employment after graduation. The guide covers a range of areas from the development of commercial awareness and personal presentation to using hobbies and travel to stand out from the crowd.
The guide was produced in response to a number of factors. Firstly, the employment market becomes inundated with graduates around this time of year and itís clear that in order to stand out, a degree on its own is not enough. Secondly, more and more people are going to university therefore the value attached to a degree is declining rather than increasing. This requires additional work experience and skills in order to present a compelling proposition to an employer.
Jane Peters, Team Manager, The Principle Partnership, comments:
ìIt is fundamental that graduates consider the importance of factors such as work experience, commercial understanding and professionalism before embarking on a mission to find their dream job. Once upon a time a degree was enough to secure a role but times have changed and graduates must be aware that this is no longer the case. This guide has been developed in order to help graduates think about all of the key areas involved in securing employment and get themselves into the best possible shape to take on the job market following graduation.ì
