Based on the success of its initial ìSuper Job Marketî recruitment advertising section introduced on January 25, The New York Times announced today that it will now begin producing the section on a semi-annual basis with the next installment appearing on Sunday, October 3. Super Job Market, an expanded version of The New York Times Job Market, is the biggest print and online recruitment section offered by The Times to employers in the tri-state area.

ìJanuaryís debut of Super Job Market was highly successful in its advertising and circulation performance demonstrating the sectionís popularity with both employers and job seekers,î said Jyll Holzman, senior vice president of advertising, The New York Times. ìThe sectionís extensive job listings underscore The New York Timesís effectiveness as a recruitment vehicle for employers, recruiters and staffing agencies.î

As an added bonus for job seekers, the Oct. 3 issue of Super Job Market will feature a call for entries for a first-ever Job Market ìCareer Makeover Contest.î Contestants must submit to Job Market a 500-word essay describing why they need a professional makeover. Winners will receive professional advice on career goals, rsum writing, interviewing skills; an ensemble of business attire and business accessories; hair and makeup consultations; and recognition in Job Marketís Nov. 21 special advertising section entitled ìTips and Tools for Getting the Job You Want.î

In the tri-state area, The Times is promoting Super Job Market through a ìGet Your Highlighters Readyî campaign that includes signage at 250 retail newsstand outlets, 70,000 premium giveaways at high-traffic commuter locations, ads in The New York Times newspaper, online at NYTimes.com and on metro traffic radio.
