The Ministry of Defence awards Progressive Resources for their support of the Reserve Forces

.

On 25th July, Progressive Resources, the South’s largest team building company, were guests of the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Mrs Mary Fagan, and Vice Admiral Adrian Johns, CBE, ADC, The Second Sea Lord to a SaBRE (Supporting Britain’s Reservists and Employers) presentation evening and reception on board HMS Victory, the oldest commissioned warship in the world.

The evening was organised to thank employers for their support of the Reserve Forces (The Royal Naval Reserve, Territorial Army and the Royal Auxiliary Air Force) in particular, during mobilisation. During the evening Mrs Mary Fagan presented 14 SaBRE Certificates to companies and organisations who had confirmed their support to the Ministry of Defence.

James Coakes, Managing Director of Progressive Resources Ltd was delighted to attend:

Progressive Resources currently employs two reservists and considers applications from applicants in the Territorial Forces very favourably. There is no organisation in the world which trains their people to a higher standard or more extensively than the British Armed Forces. Any inconveniences experienced so far, which have been minor, have been far outweighed by the benefits we have seen in the standard of leadership, team working and overall work attitude displayed by our Reservist employees. I view our involvement with Sabre as a benefit and not a compromise.’

Reservists from the South East are serving with our Regular Forces in operations throughout the world, and in particular, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Bosnia. During the reception all the employers were able to talk to members of the Reserve Forces, many of whom had served on mobilization service in Iraq.

Over 100 guests were invited to attend the evening and before the presentations many of the guests were given a guided tour of HMS Victory. At the end of the evening the Waterloo Band of The Royal Rifle Volunteers, performed ’Sounding the Retreat’ on the quayside.
