The Conference Board to hold Asia-Pacific HR Week in Hong Kong

During the second week of March, The Conference Board will launch its Asia-Pacific Human Resources Week 2007, holding a workshop, forum, and conference in Hong Kong in quick succession around the key theme of ìAdding Value, Building Leaders ñ Defining HR Strategy.î HR Week 2007 will be sponsored by DDI, Success Factors, and Taleo.

The half-day Strategic Workforce Planning Workshop will take place on March 13, hosted by Mary Young, Head of Global Working Group on Workforce Planning, The Conference Board, and David Learmond, former SVP and HR Director for Unilever China.

On the following day, The Conference Board will conduct the Asia-Pacific Talent Management Forum, with an opening keynote address on the business of talent management. The keynote speaker will be Michael Huddart, EVP and General Manager, Manulife.

ìWho Does What: The Individual, Line Management and HR, and Senior Management î will be discussed by Maria Chan, Vice President, Human Resources Management, Philips Electronics Asia-Pacific; Edward Colbert, Global Director, Organizational Effectiveness, Dow Corning; Francis Mok, Management Training and Development Manager, MTR Corporation; and Taro Tateiwa, International Human Resources Manager, Mitsui and Co, Ltd.

A plenary panel on how to make the business of talent management happen will feature: Sara Duckworth, Head of HR Development for Asia Pacific, HSBC; Derek Estrop, Director, Consulting Services, Asia, DDI; and Lelia Konyn, VP Global HR, Noble Group.

The closing keynote, ìDeveloping the Next Generation in Asia: Beyond the Glass Ceiling,î will be delivered by Heather Wang, HR Director, AP and China, GE.

On March 15, the Asia-Pacific Human Resources Conference will convene with a keynote, ìMy Expectations of HR,î by Tim Oakes, Chairman, Unilever Korea.

ìEvery Manager is a HR Managerî will be addressed by James L. Brigance, Vice President Asia-Pacific, FedEx Kinkoís.

ìStrategic Workforce Planning as a Core Business Processî will be discussed by Mary Young, Head of Global Working Group on Workforce Planning, The Conference Board.
