The average salary for a job advertised in the UK in the last six months was 31,672.
Thatís the results of the latest Monthly Salary Index published by jobs search engine AllTheTopBananas.com.
It analysed 821,058 jobs advertised between May and October this year to get the figure.
The average advertised salary has gone up 382 since last monthís salary index.
Across the regions London remains the area with the highest average advertised salary, at 38,169.
Wales has the second highest average advertised salary at 30,277. And the East Midlands sits at the bottom of the table, with an average advertised salary of just 25,516.

Job hunters can use it as a tool to assess salary offers when looking for new work. While the salary index doesn't take into account variables such as experience in a role or quirks of specific industries, it can be a useful way to set realistic salary expectations in an area.
