The Apprentice: one knockback doesnít mean the end of your career

.

This week Ben Clarke was fired from The Apprentice after Sir Alan Sugar decided that his influence in investing in expensive products which he was unable to sell at a baby show cost his team this weekís task.

Monster.co.ukís Apprentice watcher observes:

Ben was a key player in a decision to sell highly expensive rocking horses, and the team was then unable to sell any of them. Despite Ben projecting himself as a skilled negotiator, Sir Alan found that he could have negotiated a far lower price when buying the goods from their manufacturer.

At 22, Ben is one of the youngest Apprentice candidates. Despite making it to an advanced stage of the selection process, The Apprentice is now over for him and he will need to take stock of the experience. For anyone who finds that their career dreams have been suddenly shattered, Monster.co.uk recommends the following tips:

- Stay positive – use the experience to make you a stronger person

- Donít lose sight of your ambition – we all take knock backs and they donít always mean disaster. Keep persevering

- Channel the energy you spent pursuing this particular dream into something new and you may surprise yourself with the successful result

- Think – were you striving towards something for the right reasons? Is there a reason why it failed? Be prepared to reassess your goals
