Taleo Corporation, the provider of on demand talent management solutions, today announced plans to build a Taleo Business Edition application on Facebook Platform, giving small and medium-sized business customers the ability to source passive candidates and connect with talent through their trusted networks. Identifying qualified candidates is the number one recruiting challenge for most small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). As the baby boomer generation retires, companies need to adopt new methods for connecting with generation Y candidates, a contingent of some 70 million strong. Appealing to generation Y requires leveraging popular sites like Facebook, and Taleo is among the first talent management solutions to leverage its own open platform to bring this functionality to customers.
Users will be able to post jobs listed by Taleo Business Edition customers to their Facebook profile by downloading a free software application, available in Q3 2007. Jobs listed within the application will link back to the appropriate employerís website and will appear in order of proximity to the Facebook user. Taleo Business Edition customers can also track candidates sourced through the application.
ìHelping SMBs compete more effectively in the war for talent is central to our strategy. We will continue to invest in new and innovative sourcing tools to help our customers navigate this dynamic environment and win the war. This focus continues to differentiate us in the marketplace,î said Jason Blessing, group vice president and general manager of Taleoís Small and Medium Business unit. ìIntegration with Facebook Platform showcases the flexibility and power of our own standards based platform.î
Facebook is a social utility that offers an efficient way for people to stay connected with their friends and the people around them. Facebook users communicate and share information through the social graph, the network of connections and relationships between people. With more than 35 million active users, Facebook is the sixth-most trafficked website in the United States.
Facebook recently launched Facebook Platform, a development platform that enables companies and engineers to integrate with Facebook to gain access to millions of users. More than 50 per cent of Facebook users return to the site each day, providing unparalleled distribution for applications and the opportunity to build a business that is highly relevant to peopleís lives.
