Bosses should be aware of and take the necessary precautions to prevent their staff from becoming too stressed within their employment roles. Peninsula has seen a significant increase in advice calls regarding employers concerns with their staffs stress levels. Employees are finding that increased responsibilities placed upon them in the work environment present added stresses.
Stress is a thief, stealing employeeís rights to an enjoyable career. Employees often declare they are stressed on the grounds of working long hours and meeting the needs of the company which are all too often to high an expectation for an individual to reach. Stress can lead to absences of staff and therefore the company may not be able to function on a reduced number of staff. It is, for that reason, important for bosses to implement or enhance methods to reduce stress within their work place.
In order for employees to be at ease within their roles, employers must introduce methods so their staff can become accustomed to the stress their position presents. Bosses need to ensure that their employees are taking the necessary breaks allowing their staff chance to relax thus reducing tension.
The survey urged us to issue a warning to employers to monitor stress levels within the work place. Employers should initiate simple procedures such as ensuring there are enough employees to deal with work loads. Too much added pressure placed upon one employee, can easily be reduced by enrolling new staff. Communication can also be key within a stressful environment. The need for good channels of communications between employees can be of great advantage in respect to their stress levels. Employers should ensure that there are no internal conflicts which may also arise within the company; this would hinder the productivity and the atmosphere within the work place, creating a knock-on effect amongst other employees and their stress levels.
