A recent survey conducted by AdminJobs.ie has found that 69% of employers questioned donít think itís acceptable to check your social networking page at work. The remaining 31% said ëonce in your working dayí is adequate.

From 4,000 Irish office employees surveyed 32% disagree with this and say that they would check their social networking page between 1-3 times daily. 1 in 10 of respondents addicted to their Facebook/myspace/Bebo page, checking up to 4 or more times a day.

Irish workers shouldnít fear employers snooping on their page to find out what they get up to in their spare time, as a staggering 94% of employers said they wouldnít check employeeís networking pages.

Asking a colleague to be your ìfriendî on your networking site seems to split opinion with over 57% of those questioned saying they would ask someone they worked with the join their page. The remaining responding with answers such as ìbusiness and pleasure donít mixî.

Separating your social and work life seems to be a common thread among Irish workers ñ 85% of Irish employees questioned going out with colleagues once a month or less, with 13% never going for that after work pint.

But the West of Ireland seems to love to party with 100% replying that they would go out every week with work colleagues!
