Snowdrop has released the latest version of its software, v5.4, offering an extensive range of new features to enhance existing functionality

Snowdrop has released the latest version of its software, v5.4, offering an extensive range of new features to enhance existing functionality.

v5.4 will be complete with a refreshed look & feel, whilst retaining the overall structure of the existing, popular navigation. All modules include a new menu bar and interactive tabs and action buttons that change colour as you hover over or click on them.

The updated interface reflects a move towards industry-standard interfaces, to increase usability and reduce the learning curve for new users.

In terms of self-service functionality, Snowdropís online appraisals have been updated to make it easier to combine assessments, personal development plans & appraisals and look at year-on-year individual progression. The aim is to promote manager buy-in to the appraisal process and increase compliance with staff reviews.

Flexibility has also been added to objective management, allowing HR teams to create individual objectives for employees that can then be linked to company or departmental objectives. These objectives will be time bound and linked to the new online appraisal process. Not only does this serve to improve appraisal analysis, but also drives down associated paperwork through access to more extensive appraisal information online.

Holiday management has been developed to allow online authorisation of absences by alternate managers when an employeeís line manager is absent, as well as providing more flexibility for employees to request changes to booked holidays. In addition, it will be possible to time limit holidays carried forward to a future holiday year. By improving absence management processes, workload for the HR team will be significantly reduced, while ensuring better control over any leave carried forward to the following year.

Other updates include, extended correspondence functionality and bulk manager timesheet entry. All new features are geared towards streamlining HR processes and encouraging employee development and support.
