Sky Active dishes up Interactive TV jobs

with the NEW Job Channel

The Job Channel has announced the launch of the first fully interactive recruitment service on Sky digital to over 15 million viewers across the UK.

The Job Channel has signed deals with some of the UKs leading employers from the private and public sector, giving them access to potential employees in Sky digital''s 5.9 million households. These include BSM, The Daily Express, Staffordshire County Council, Chubb Security and Rentokil Initial, as well as a range of the largest recruitment agencies.

The launch of the Job Channel, accessible via the Sky Active menu, allows jobseekers to search from around 20,000 job vacancies nationwide, covering a wide range of market sectors and skill levels. Once the selection has been made, users can apply for the chosen job either directly through their Sky remote or request details be texted or emailed. The service will enable recruiters to reach a wider audience of jobseekers through the Job Channel. With detailed reporting facilities provided to show who is responding to vacancies and additional branding and bespoke microsite opportunities available to raise the profiles of recruiters, the Job Channel provides recruiters with the most technologically advanced recruitment channel currently available on Interactive TV.
Angus Drever, CEO of MultiMedia Television PLC, the company that operates the Job Channel, commented: Our new service on Sky digital ensures that users benefit from an intuitive recruitment channel that allows them to easily select the most relevant jobs. Furthermore, it also ensures that recruiters are able to reach the largest cross section of the public via the UKs leading digital TV provider - Sky. Many leading brands have already woken up to the potential of Interactive TV, adopting it as part of their wider recruitment strategy. We believe our new service - The Job Channel - on Sky Active will strengthen our position as the most efficient and cost effective recruitment solution.

Tobin Ireland, commercial director at Sky Interactive, added: ìThe launch of the Job Channel is a further step in the on-going enhancement to classified offerings on Sky Active. We are sure that our users will find the new Job Channel service a valuable part of Sky Active''s offering.

Launched in October 2001, Sky Active was created to house Sky Digital''s interactive services. With more than 5.9 million subscribers and 15 million viewers across the UK and Ireland, Sky digital is the UKs leading - and Europe''s fastest growing - broadband digital television platform.
