Siemens PLC will use People Genie

to recruit UK staff

to recruit UK staff

Following the launch of People Genie recruitment software earlier this year, global electronics and engineering giant Siemens PLC has signed up to the groundbreaking service.

www.peoplegenie.co.uk will be used to distribute job adverts to recruitment websites posted by Siemensí recruiters based in their 30 UK offices.

Marc Hendrickse, Managing Director of People Genie Ltd commented: ìTo sign up such a significant global name so soon after launching People Genie is very exciting. With 426,000 employees worldwide, it is no wonder that the company places such huge importance on recruiting the best people.

ìSiemens approached us shortly after the launch of the software because they could see we were making innovations which would increase efficiency in their recruitment strategy. Initially they will use the service throughout the UK to send recruitment adverts to all their job board contacts simultaneously, although they have already expressed an interest in the other services we can offer.î

Online recruitment is a major element of Siemensí recruitment strategy and People Genie anticipates that it will become the preferred method of recruiting for the UK by the end of 2003. People Genie can send vacancies instantly to any number of job boards worldwide as well as provide up to date analysis on which sites are suitable for each sector and job type and which actually generate placements. The software is accessible to SMEís recruiting as few as five vacancies a year to worldwide specialists fillings 60,000 vacancies annually.

Tim Jones, Online Recruitment Manager based in Siemensí UK headquarters in Bracknell, Berkshire commented: ìSiemens has always harnessed the latest technologies to improve the lives of our customers and employees. We were keen to implement People Genie because we can see it will have an instant effect on our recruitment methods. An increasingly large proportion of our new employees are resourced online and we would like to increase this trend because of the cost savings that can be made compared to traditional recruitment methods.

ìPeople Genie software will give us greater national and global visibility for our online advertising with a single click, enabling our recruiting teams to spend more time screening and selecting the best applicants, crucial in ensuring that we stay ahead of our competition.

People Genie software is powered by Microsoft.NET and is compatible with any PC with internet access. It is predicted that over 100,000 vacancies will be sent to job boards via the software in 2003. People Genie operates through the Internet, rather than traditional client hosted servers, so it does not require an expensive installation process or in-house technical backup.

The programme also boasts a CV database which applicants can interact with. Recruiters can use this service to automatically respond to applicants by SMS text messaging and e-mail from the first expression of interest to the instant a vacancy is filled. The software has been developed with the facility to be modified for any clientís bespoke requirements and it will also be adapted for sending job adverts to traditional print media.

Marc Hendrickse added: ìIn some business lines it can take years to build up a reputation which can attract global companies. However, the technology industry is results driven and the barriers that could prevent a new company from working with a brand such as Siemens AG just arenít in place. Siemens is one of several well-known business brands that People Genie is in the process of working with, all of which can see that our product will increase efficiency for their companyís workforce.î

Marc Hendrickse continued: ìA lot of our initial enquiries have been from companies who want to know more about our product purely because weíre a new business so they expect us to come to the market with the latest technology. Enquiries are not just coming from the UK offices of multinational companies, but from all over Europe, the USA, New Zealand and Australia, so I would anticipate that People Genie will be operating in several countries as well as in different languages by the end of the year.î

People Genie recently announced a breakthrough in technology which would enable job hunters to reply to vacancy alerts sent as a text message by recruiters. People Genie software will enable companies who subscribe to the service to get an immediate response from those who are unable to make private calls at their leisure in the work environment. Text messages can be purchased in blocks of 200 ñ 100,000 from People Genie for as little as 5.5p per message. Messages can be tailored to individual recipients or sent out to a database of contacts simultaneously.

People Genie software is available through a selection of job boards and direct from People Genie for 500 per annum for unlimited use. A revolutionary ëpay as you goí option costing 10 per use will ensure the software is accessible to businesses of any size for all online recruitment requirements. Add-on facilities include managing a recruitment database, operating a client-hosted version of the software and sending bespoke e-mails to a database of contacts.
