SHRMís Staffing Management Conference sessions offer practical information and tools for talent management. SHRM has modified the 2009 conference sessions recently to reflect the current economy and the challenges the recession creates for HR professionals.
ìThe economic downturn places a greater emphasis on talent management more than ever before and changes the roles and responsibilities of HR professionals and recruiters,î said SHRM Chief Professional Development Officer Bob Carr. ìSHRM is committed to helping HR develop the necessary skills to assume these new roles and responsibilities, and the SHRM Staffing Management Conference is a great place to develop new skills, network with colleagues, and get answers to pressing issues now.î
ìEven in todayís uncertain economy where professional development may seem like a luxury, HR professionals must remain current, anticipate the forces shaping businessesí human capital needs, and consistently expand and sharpen skills to continue to add value to business,î Carr said.
The conferenceís keynote speakers include bestselling author and former Leadership Coach and Chief Solutions Officer for Yahoo! Tim Sanders; award-winning journalist Nadira A. Hira; and business author Steve Gilliland, CSP.
Educational sessions include:
