SHL launches Internet-based development planning and performance management modules

.

SHL has announced the launch of two new modules to complement shlsolutions, its highly flexible and successful online portfolio of assessment and development tools. Enhancing the existing groundbreaking 360 solution set, the latest modules provide organisations with tools to align development and performance management with organisational strategy.

The two easily accessible modules will deliver targeted development and performance management expertise to organisations via the Internet. Used together, the modules identify the key criteria for successful job performance and the ongoing actions and skills required to achieve it, replacing time-consuming bureaucratic annual appraisals with continual performance management. The modules can be purchased together or in isolation and both are available either with the SHL Competency Framework preloaded or as an ''empty shell'' that can be populated with an organisation''s specific competencies, behaviours and development resources.

The Development module enables self or multi rater assessment for individuals on job related skills. The ratee is also able to collect instant feedback that links directly online to development plans and advice, fully engaging them in their own learning process. MIS reports provide managers with an aggregated view of the workforce.

The Performance module increases the speed and efficiency of the appraisal/performance review process, allowing the definition of specific performance objectives required for the job and the reporting and tracking of progress against these. Each job objective is defined in terms of the behaviours and actions required to achieve successful performance.

Both modules are linked together by shared access to targeted, practical development advice and planning.

The new modules also offer multi-lingual capability, enabling any organisation to measure its human capital through a common set of competencies and performance management objectives and then action development within an enterprise-wide framework. The availability of data management, benchmarking and management information also allows development and performance management issues to be tackled at the individual team/function/division/organisation level. In addition, full automation and integration enables organisations to focus efforts on managing and leading rather than administration.

Roy Davis, Head of Communications, SHL said: SHL offers contemporary measurement based on the expertise and experience of working for 25 years in some of the world''s leading client organisations. The new modules make performance management and individual development part of everyday working life and deliver it to the desktop of both the individual and manager. This will help organisations to competitive advantage by managing and motivating their staff to work effectively in their job roles.
