SHL, the global leader in talent assessment solutions, awarded its annual MSc project prize at the 2009 Division of Occupational Psychology Conference. The prize was awarded to the best of the occupational psychology students who participated in the international competition.

The prize was given to Cinde Law who studied at the Chinese University of Hong Kong for her paper entitled ëApplicant Reactions towards Personality Testing: The Influence of Test Formats and Mode of Test Administrationí.

SHLís MSc programme is designed to support research into psychometric testing and also forges lasting relationships with some of the worldís most promising future occupational psychologists.

To be considered for the prize, students were asked to compile a detailed executive summary of their projects, following which a number of successful students were shortlisted and asked to provide full dissertations which were assessed on criteria including innovation, scientific rigour, quality of the methodology and contribution to the work of SHLís Research programme.

The judging panel was comprised of Emeritus Professor Peter Warr at the Institute for Work Psychology, University of Sheffield, Professor Dave Bartram, Research Director at SHL, and members of the SHL Research team.

Dave Bartram commented: ìSHL is proud to collaborate with top-class students who have demonstrated outstanding levels of innovation and scientific rigour in their research projects. The level of work that we have seen this year has again been to a very high standard.î
