Select Appointments, a national staffing services company with a 25-year track record, is rapidly expanding its business and UK presence. The company is currently looking to attract prospective franchisees to further its network in new locations, and during the first five months of 2005 had signed up five new offices to add to the fifteen already in place.
Select has a target list of over 25 towns and cities where it is looking to open franchise offices, including Aberdeen, Bradford, Blackburn, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Plymouth, Swansea, and Telford. Franchisees own their own local recruitment business using the strength of a well-established national brand to build their reputation in the local community.
All offices operate from town or city locations approved by Select, with premises fitted to approved corporate standards, making franchise and company-operated offices indistinguishable in the eyes of candidates and clients. The same proven quality accredited systems, head office support functions and national major contracts are made available to franchisees as to their corporately owned counterparts.
Nick Wastell, franchisee of Select Appointments Norwich said: I set up my franchise in 1995 after a career as the international franchise manager for Marks & Spencer. I had no recruitment industry experience, but was attracted to Selectís proposition as a company based on a solid business model, that was able and willing to able to invest the time to develop me and my business.
The business was so successful that I was able to open up a second franchise office in Chelmsford in 1999(?), and I now have 30 staff and a turnover of 6m. In addition, for the past two years the Norwich franchise has won Selectís Top Office Award, which has been really motivating.
Debbie Smith, head of franchise at Select Appointments said: In 2004, 35% of Select franchises were generating over 1m in sales turnover per year, which is a terrific success. The majority of successful franchisees have had no previous experience of the recruitment market. This is a great testament to the level of support individuals receive from us to establish their business plans and budgets, and implement the key performance indicators and standard business processes used throughout Selectís established network.
Select will be exhibiting at The British Franchise Exhibition at the NEC on 7-8 October 2005 and at The Irish Franchise Exhibition at the 4-5 November at the RDS, Dublin. For more information on setting up a franchise visit
