Fife-based Houdini Media have been awarded the title of ‘Best Job Board’ for SeasonWorkers.com at last week’s Recruiter Awards. The prestigious awards ceremony on 14th April was held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane where SeasonWorkers.com beat off strong competition from other job board websites such as monster.co.uk and Guardian Jobs amongst others.
The judges were impressed with the innovative feel of the site, and felt that it stood out from the competition through its visually engaging elements, which provide a real sense of community. According to Recruiter the judging aimed to recognise organisations who add outstanding value to their business partnerships and relationships, and not those who simply provide a solid professional service.
The blue-chip panel of 16 judges included Paul Maxin, Global Resourcing Director at Unilever and Samantha Rich, Head of Resourcing at AXA UK. Kate Bleasdale, Executive Vice Chairman of HCL the UK's leading specialist health and social care recruiter, who also supported the event, commented:
“The Recruiter Awards 2010 are without doubt the most prestigious night in the industry’s calendar, and an opportunity to honour recruitment’s leading players for their innovation and outstanding contribution to the continuing development of the profession.”
Mick Briggs, Director of Houdini Media, is delighted that SeasonWorkers.com has been recognised, especially as the web team have worked particularly hard in delivering a service that stands out from the competition visually and in terms of the quality of service and innovation that it offers to its users:
“The Recruiter award is an incredible achievement for us. It stands out not just for the prestige that it brings, but also because the judging is rigorous and the other finalists were of such high quality. The award demonstrates that a relatively small company with vision and team spirit can succeed in a tough economic environment and compete with much larger operations. It has been the incredible effort on the part of our staff that has fuelled our progress. Thanks must also go to our users and clients who, after all, provide the content that makes SeasonWorkers.com the success that it is.”
