Scottishjobs.com confirms expansion

ScottishAppointments to be rebranded

Award-winning Scottish recruitment website ScottishAppointments.com is to be re-branded scottishjobs.com as part of 1 million marketing and business push designed to establish the site as Scotland’s leading online recruitment resource.

The re-branding announcement was made as the company opened a new office in Edinburgh today (Wednesday March 24th 2004) to house an expanded sales team covering the central belt and south Scotland.

Scottishjobs.com headquarters will remain in Dundee where its admin, finance and marketing staff are based, alongside its north of Scotland sales team.

The company’s website lets jobseekers search for employment vacancies across all industry sectors in Scotland and helps recruiters and employers identify the right candidates easily and cost-effectively. It is currently ranked second in the online recruitment sector north of the border.

Last month the company secured a major unspecified investment from IrishJobs.ie, Ireland’s leading recruitment website. Further investment of approximately 1 million is planned over the next year to 18 months to drive its success in the Scottish market and establish it as the dominant national force in online recruitment.

Scottishjobs.com Managing Director Pat Kelly said : We know we have a successful formula and with new investment in promotion, re-branding and marketing, we believe we can be the market leader in Scotland.

Our research shows that the online recruitment market in Scotland is worth 10 million annually and that any one time there are over 250,000 people actively job hunting. That is a major growth opportunity for a Scottish website which is attractive to both prospective employers and employees.

The opening of a new office in Edinburgh is the first step in a programme of planned growth and promotion over the next year. In addition to raising the profile of scottishjobs.com, it is likely we will also open a new office in Glasgow to service business growth.
