Recruiting over the Internet becomes more and more important

The use of the Internet for recruiting will become more important in the coming years

The use of the Internet for recruiting will become more important in the coming years. 90 percent of the participants in the study ÑRecruiting Trends 2005ì, that has been presented to the public at the 3rd symposium for human resources manager in Wiesbaden today, agree with that statement. The experts see the Internet as especially useful to reach young, qualified candidates. 73.8 percent of the companies see online jobboards as the most important or second most important channel to reach college graduates today. In reaching employees with several years of working experience, the jobboards achieve similar levels.

Up to 2009 the importance of Internet jobboards for these target groups rises to more than 77 percent (graduates) or 75 percent (employees with several years of working experience) respectively. Additionally the importance of the Internet to reach trainees and employees with a completed traineeship will also rise.

ÑThe reason for this growing use of Internet channels are lower costs for rising coverage as well as the possibility to actively push the use of electronic application processes,ì says Wolfgang Knig, professor for information management at the University of Frankfurt. 63 percent of companies say, that they reduced their costs for employee marketing by a third using e-recruiting.

Third edition of the study

The study ÑRecruiting Trends 2005ì analyses current trends in the recruiting of the German Top 1000 companies and 1000 small and medium sized companies. The institute for information management at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe-University Frankfurt conducted the empirical study together with the career network Monster Deutschland and its affiliated company TMP Worldwide, the international service provider for employee services, for the third time.
