As signs of a sustained economic recovery continue to emerge, ExecuNetís Recruiters Confidence Index increased in November. The monthly survey of executive recruiters conducted by ExecuNet, the executive job search and recruiting network, reveals an improving outlook for the executive employment market.
According to the survey, 74% of recruiters are confident or very confident the executive employment market will improve during the next six months ñ up from 67% in October. During this period of time, the executive search industry is expecting a 16% increase in the number of assignments it receives from clients.
ìRecruiters continue to grow more bullish on the executive employment market,î says Mark Anderson, President of ExecuNet. ìWhile the demand for executive talent isnít expected to reach the intensity of the late 1990s anytime soon, it appears that companies will be increasing their hiring substantially in the months ahead.î
Recruitersí short-term outlook for the executive employment market also improved in November, as 58% are confident or very confident the market will get better in the three months ahead ñ up from 50% one month ago.
To prepare for stronger growth in the employment market, 51% of search firms have plans to hire additional professional staff in the next three months. During the last three months, 33% of all search firms added professional staff.
