Recruiter Apprentice Scheme goes from strength to strength

The brand new and fully-funded Recruitment Apprenticeship Scheme, which opened for applications from recruiters and potential candidates last month has proved immensely popular with the recruitment industry, with half of the available placements already reserved by recruitment companies keen to take on an apprentice for their business.

Expedient has created 150 of the Apprenticeship placements - which are accredited by Educational Development International (EDI) and Edexcel - across London, Manchester, Nottingham and Birmingham and today confirmed their 70th placement on the scheme.

Paul Deen, Expedient Marketing Director said “From our research and from working closely with the recruitment industry we expected the scheme to be popular, but we have been really pleased by the positivity and receptiveness of the industry.”

The North East Apprentice Company (NAC) which helps connect employers and apprentices in North East England confirmed last week that they would like to book 15 of the placements for their clients.

Networkers PLC, a global recruitment consultancy with a network of 15 offices across 5 continents are looking to take on 20 new apprentices, starting in September, whilst Building Services recruiter Beeby Anderson and IT recruiter Prospectus IT Recruitment have also both reserved a place on the Scheme.

Beeby Anderson Managing Director Chris Beeby commented “As a small business, this is a fantastic opportunity for us to grow our team. The structure of the apprenticeship scheme takes the pressure off both the new staff member and employer whilst they find their feet, allowing us to nurture our talent and ensure they have all the skills and tools they need, which, ultimately then pays dividends.”

The12 month training package gives candidates four recognised qualifications including the REC’s Certificate in Recruitment Practice, and gives employers the reassurance that their staff are acquiring all the skills they will need in a structured way. Paul Deen continues “Employers can take on as few or as many apprentices as they need, and can use the scheme to hire new staff or train existing junior staff.

The Apprenticeships are equally suitable for global recruitment firms, boutique agencies, high street chains or recruitment departments within corporations.”

With 80 apprenticeship placements remaining and candidates due to start in early September, interested employers need to act quickly to ensure they don’t miss out. To find out more and apply visit: www.recruitment-apprenticeship.co.uk
