Record SEEK traffic hidden by Nielsen//NetRatings reporting error

SEEK maintains 100% lead over competitors in audience traffic

Revised site traffic reports issued by Nielsen//NetRatings show that SEEK drew a record 1,702,485 candidates (unique browsers) in October and 1,733,488 in November 2005.

Nielsen//NetRatings issued a statement earlier this week stating that they had under-reported unique browser traffic to SEEK between April and October 2005 by 8% - 10%. For example, the error under-reported the number of unique browsers to SEEK in October 2005 by over 164,000.

SEEK CEO, Paul Bassat, said: ìThe corrected report confirms SEEKís true position in the employment marketplace and, more importantly, reveals that we have maintained a 100% lead in audience traffic over our competitors.

ìOur advertised jobs are reaching a record, national audience of both active and passive jobseekers, at a time when the latest SEEK Employment Index has shown a further tightening in the Australian employment market. This underlines the powerful audience reach available to our advertisers.

ìSEEKís continued investment in brand positioning and search technology has allowed us to draw the equivalent of 17% of the working population to browse our advertised roles on SEEK. This is a strong competitive advantage which we will continue to build on next yearî, he said.
