Market leading oil and gas job board, OilCareers.comís brand campaign has had record-breaking success so far

Market leading oil and gas job board, OilCareers.com’s brand campaign has had record-breaking success so far. May 2010 saw page views to the site exceeding 6 million* for the first time, with visits up 27% on the same period last year. In addition, in the last month OilCareers had more than 500,000 unique visitors* accessing the site per month.


The highly-targeted brand campaign, portraying OilCareers as the giant of Oil & Gas recruitment, has had a global reach; focusing around the two existing OilCareers offices. UK activity has been centred on the oil hub of Aberdeen - with Houston being the focus of the US activity.


Aberdeen has benefited from promotion via roadside billboards, airport/heliport poster sites, bus panel advertising, taxi livery and radio advertising. This resulted in UK visits to OilCareers.com exceeding 220,000 in May* – up 6% on 2009.


Candidate attraction in Houston is driven through search engine marketing, targeted online advertising on professional networking sites such as LinkedIn and Facebook, billboards in key central Houston locations and a radio campaign. US visits in May were more than twice that of a year ago and up 35% on the previous month. The successful US campaign has brought Houston’s web traffic to OilCareers up on a par with Aberdeen.


The success of the campaign in Houston has lead to the US team expanding, with the appointment of Joseph Jones, joining OilCareers.com from recruitment firm Platinum Solutions; bringing with him his vital experience within recruitment in the Oil and Gas industry in Houston.


The campaign has also affected other key oil hubs across the globe, with Australian traffic up 40% on last year and Middle-east visits up 17% over the same period.
