REC Legal and HR, the group within the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) dedicated to supporting legal and HR recruiters, recently held a roundtable which analysed the relationship between agencies and HR and how that relationship can be strengthened and improved.
Attended not only by REC member firms, but also their clients, the meeting identified what constitutes good practice in building and maintaining productive relationships between HR and recruitment agencies. The HR perspective played a vital part in ensuring an open and frank discussion was achieved.
Commenting on the meeting Sean Smythe, HR Manager of Skills Training UK said:
Both HR and agencies see the ‘ideal’ scenario as one where they clearly understand each other’s business objectives and needs. We welcome the opportunity to contribute to REC’s Legal and HR’s project into highlighting the requirements of a productive partnership between HR and agencies.
Commenting on the meeting, Martin Snell, Chair of REC Legal and HR said:
In the current climate, identifying talent and individuals with the right skills and experience presents employers with real challenges. A productive partnership with a recruitment agency is therefore not just beneficial but is a business imperative.
“Agencies need to show that they are able to go above and beyond what HR professionals expect and by offering new insight into the relationship between HR and agencies, REC Legal and HR Sector Group members will be in a position to overcome their client’s toughest recruitment difficulty and achieve their number one resourcing objective.”
Following the feedback from the meeting, a short guide will be produced highlighting the key findings.
