REC crowned trade association of the year

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has been awarded the title of the UKís Trade Association of the Year by the Trade Association Forum

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has been awarded the title of the UKís Trade Association of the Year by the Trade Association Forum.

With the announcement of this prestigious award, Helen Reynolds, the RECís Acting Chief Executive Officer, said: ìThis accolade is a tribute to all the hard working staff at the organisation and especially Marcia Roberts, who sadly had to step down as CEO earlier this year, but who was instrumental in bringing us all up to this outstanding level.

ìThis award shows that the REC is providing an exemplary service to its members and will further our reputation as one of the most groundbreaking, innovative associations to join.î

Judges were unanimous in their decision to give the REC the top award. They praised the REC for its work ñ its professionalism and persuasive crusading campaigning within the sector. They also noted its important work on legal issues as well as furthering membership numbers.

ìIn short, the judges felt the initiatives undertaken by the REC in the last year had been extremely well thought through and effectively executed,î said the TAFís citation.

The award was presented at a glittering awards ceremony held at Londonís Marriott Hotel last night (Tuesday July 10).

Representatives from the REC led by Helen Reynolds were presented with the award by compre and special guest broadcaster and author Gyles Brandreth.

It was a double celebration for the REC, the trade association for the UKís 24.8 billion private recruitment industry, as it also picked up the award for the Best Membership Pack.

The judges said they felt the RECís radically overhauled membership packs for both its corporate and individual members stood out from the competition and considered them highly effective.

In particular, they thought the introduction of new individual membership cards and personal support packs were an excellent idea that the REC had executed well.

Commenting on the award, Peter Copus, the RECís Head of Membership, said: ìThis is the perfect reward for the painstaking work which has been put into introducing major changes for our membership packs, especially for individual members, who now have access to a range of personal benefits and services. We are thrilled to have been honoured this way.î
