QHR Software Launches QHRnet - Employee and Manager Self Service

QHR Software is proud to announce the web platform for Quadrant HR, called QHRnet, is now available. QHRnet provides the following functionality across the internet:

- The ability for employees to view their demographic information such as name, telephone number, mailing address.

- Employees can view their pay statements and vacation banks.

- Staff schedules are available for employees to see in real time.

- Employee competencies are also viewable by employees.

- Additional functionality includes Leave Management where staff can submit leave requests to managers over the web.

Brockville General Hospital (BGH), located in Brockville, Ontario has just implemented QHRnet. Even in the early stages of using QHRnet, BGH already realizes the value employee and manager self service brings to their organization, both from a cost perspective and as a communication tool.

In terms of cost justification for this solution, we have looked at a number of areas and identified that we would see direct and indirect cost savings. Some examples of indirect cost savings come from improving awareness between employees and managers, improved data integrity, and decreasing the number of documents going out with the wrong addresses, says Matthew Armstrong Financial Analyst and Business Office Manager at BGH. We also identified direct cost savings in the amount of paper we won’t be needing anymore to send out pay statements. Based on the elimination of postage, letterhead and envelopes, we are looking at a first year cost reduction of about $8,000 - not including wages.

BGH is also looking forward to other business benefits provided by the rest of the QHRnet solution. We think we’ll decrease overtime costs with QHRnet because schedulers will be more likely to find the right replacement for a given shift. Schedulers will have more time to do the analysis necessary when dealing with leave requests and last minute schedule changes. As soon as the leave is approved, it’s easy to apply relief and find the right person. The QHRnet solution is very complementary to the Staff Scheduling module in Quadrant HR. We expect these cost benefits to impact departments like nursing, med-surg and maternal-child, says Armstrong.

Lastly, BGH is excited about the ability for employees to access their schedules remotely, on-line. Armstrong says, Providing employees with web access to see their own schedules, in real time is a great advantage for both managers and staff. Not only can we also recover some costs on all the paper we use for printing schedules, but we also expect that staff will be happier about being able to see their schedules without having to come in and look at a those print outs. QHRnet is a great extension to the Quadrant HR solution.
