Pizza Hut is to use the online recruitment trend to target younger job seekers into vacancies in its restaurants.
The company, which is currently going through the process of re-branding itself as Pasta Hut, is aiming to attract the 18 to 22-year-old Generation Y population, Personnel Today writes.
With 85 per cent of their younger team members set to become managers, the restaurant says it wants to employ the best young talent using its website.
Jayne Little, HR director for Pizza Hut said: For us it's about attracting people into the business and what we have looked at doing is an updated recruitment site, talking in the language of people that come and work for us.
ClickAJob Marketing Manager Anders Jensen welcomes the move.
Too many employers are slow off the mark in immersing themselves in the culture of job-seekers who will one day become their future management, he says.
Savvy employers are going a lot further - for instance using Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn to out about prospective staff before they even get to interview stage.
Ignoring such social trends is like turning your back on the future, he continues.
Within only a few years, social networking via mobile devices will be as familiar as light bulbs are now - so everyday, people will only notice when they're missing.
At the end of the summer, Recruiter reported on an increase in retail recruitment thanks to the growing trend for discount and budget shops on the high street.
